Eller College Undergraduate Programs rank #15 among public business schools nationwide and #25 among business schools overall in the current U.S. News & World Report survey.
Specializations ranked in the top 25 include:
- Management Information Systems – 3rd; 1st among public programs; and 1 of 3 institutions to maintain Top 5 status since the inception of the rankings in 1989
- Entrepreneurship – 7th; 2nd among public programs

Eller MBA Program
The Eller MBA ranks #55 among graduate business schools overall in the U.S. News & World Report survey.
Specializations ranked in the top 20 include:
- Management Information Systems – #5 and 1 of 3 institutions to maintain Top 5 status since the inception of the rankings in 1989
- Entrepreneurship – #16 nationally, continuing its record of Top 20 status since the survey's inception
In January 2009, Financial Times ranked Eller's MBA #41 among full-time programs worldwide, #19 among full-time U.S. programs, #5 among U.S. public institutions, #9 in entrepreneurship.
In September 2007, The Wall Street Journal/Harris Interactive rankings placed the Eller MBA program #43 in its Regional Ranking category.
Forbes magazine distinguished the Eller MBA as the only Arizona-based program in “Best Business Schools” rankings; the program moved up from 45th to 43rd.
McGuire Entrepreneurship Program (McGuire Center for Entrepreneurship)
The McGuire Entrepreneurship Program is ranked the #2 undergraduate and #2 graduate program in the nation by Entrepreneur magazine and The Princeton Review, the only ranking of its kind in that it evaluates entrepreneurship exclusively and does not consider other school disciplines, areas of focus or reputation factors.
In addition, Eller’s McGuire Program is one of only four schools to remain for five consecutive years as part of the national top-tier grouping, an elite core of 12 schools selected through a scientific assessment of more than 60 program dimensions.
U.S. News & World Report ranks Eller's entrepreneurship program #2 among public programs and #7 overall in its undergraduate business school rankings and #6 among public programs and #13 overall in the graduate business school rankings for entrepreneurship.
The McGuire Entrepreneurship Program has been recognized for excellence by the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship and SUCCESS magazine and is a past recipient of the Nasdaq Center for Entrepreneurial Excellence Award.
MPA Program, School of Public Administration and Policy
The Master of Public Administration program ranks #36 among graduate public administration programs overall — and #23 among public institutions and #7 in the West — in the latest U.S. News & World Report survey.
Eller Doctoral Programs
In January 2009, Financial Times ranked Eller’s doctoral programs #31 in the world, #21 in the United States, and #3 among U.S. public institutions.
Economic and Business Research Center
The Eller College’s Economic and Business Research Center has been recognized by the Association for University Business and Economic Research (AUBER) for excellence in publications. Most recently, the Center was honored with the 2003 award for excellence in the category of Abstracts and Other Data Publications. EBR’s website, the Arizona’s Economy newsletter, and annual Economic Outlook publication also have received recognition.
Other Notables
In October 2004, the UA Decision Behavior Laboratory — a cross-campus team concentrated in the Eller College Department of Management and Organizations and led by professor Terry Connolly — was ranked eighth among schools nationwide by the Decision Analysis Society. The program placed second among public institutions in this first formal study and ranking of decision behavior programs at schools across the country.
Eller College and its various programs have also been ranked among top programs by Forbes, as well as Business 2.0 and Computerworld magazines for strength in technology.
Financial Times magazine has recognized Eller College as one of the top schools granting Ph.D. degrees in the international business school arena, and Academy of Management Journal has recognized Eller College faculty as a top school in research productivity.
