Excellence in Service Award
Raghu Nandan, B.S.B.A. in Business Management, 2002
Raghu currently works as the Assistant Manager of Loss Mitigation - Risk Management at First Magnus Financial Corporation based out of Tucson, Arizona (one of the largest privately-held
residential mortgage lenders with over $16 billion in annual loan funding).
As a student in the undergraduate program, Raghu was actively involved in the Eller College's Professional Admission process, worked closely with The University's Office of Special Events, actively performed independent research on various risk- and management-related topics, and was an active volunteer with the American Red Cross' Disaster Action Team.
Currently, Raghu has facilitated the hiring of several Eller graduates at First Magnus Financial, and continues to remain involved in the Professional Admission process.
Outstanding Recent Alumnus Award
Gilbert Davidson, B.S.P.A. in Public Management and B.S.B.A. in Human Resource Management, 1998; M.P.A. in Public Administration, 2004
Gilbert currently serves as the Willcox City Manager, he was appointed to this position in June of 2002 by the Willcox City Council. In June of this year Gilbert will begin an appointed position as Assistant Town Manager of Marana, Arizona. Prior to his City Manager position Gilbert worked for the Senior Vice President for Business Affairs at The University of Arizona.
As a student at The University of Arizona, Gilbert was involved in the Eller College Student Council, Bobcats Seniors Honorary, and served as both a Senator and President of ASUA.
Eller College Associate of the Year Award
Robert D. Ramirez, B.S.B.A. in Accounting, 1976
Robert D. Ramirez was appointed President/CEO of DM Federal Credit Union (DMFCU) effective April 14, 2000. He has worked with DMFCU since 1985. During that time, he has served as Assistant Vice President of Accounting and Vice President of Asset Liability Management and became Executive Vice President in October 1996.
Robert received his Bachelor of Science Degree in accounting from The University of Arizona and was admitted to the State Board of Accountancy to practice as a Certified Public Accountant in 1983. He is also a graduate of the Financial Management School at The University of Colorado, Boulder and is an adjunct professor at Pima Community College and Phoenix College. He is married to Katharine Ramirez and they have one daughter, Gabriella
