Innovation Frontier Arizona Offers No-Cost Workshops for Entrepreneurs
Studies show that providing education on the challenges facing start-up firms — such as market research, business plan preparation, and funding sources — is a critical factor in building a vibrant entrepreneurial economy.
Now the Innovation Frontier Arizona partnership has announced the availability of more than 1,000 no-cost seats in workshops hosted across four Southern Arizona counties: Pima, Santa Cruz, Yuma, and Cochise. The program is administered by the Chris and Carol McGuire Center for Entrepreneurship.
“These workshops are meant to serve entrepreneurs at a critical stage in their venture process,” says Sherry Hoskinson, director of the McGuire Center. “Whether they face issues of funding, greening a new venture, or applying for grants, there’s a workshop designed to provide answers.”
The workshops, held between October 1, 2009, and June 30, 2010, will be hosted by a variety of partners. Some examples include “Business Development for New Hispanic Entrepreneurs,” “Funding Your Innovation Through SBIR/STTR Programs,” and “Idea Generation.”
Additional entrepreneurship education resources are available at all County One-Stop Career Centers, Pima Community College, Cochise Community College, Arizona Western College, and The University of Arizona.
