MIS Conference Commemorates 30 Years of Innovation

30th Anniversary, MIS Department: 30th Anniversary Conference. November 3-6, 2004. Shape the Future of IT in Education, Practice and Research. Register now.In November, the Eller College of Management MIS Department will celebrate 30 years of innovation with "Shaping the Future of Information Technology," a major information technology conference at the Hilton El Conquistador Resort in Tucson.

November 3-5, hundreds of academic scholars and thought leaders in business, law, education, life sciences, and government will gather to exchange ideas about the tremendous impact of information technology on the way we work, the way we learn, and the way we live.

It’s no surprise that such a conference would be sponsored by Eller College. “The Eller College MIS Department has been at the forefront of information technology research, development, and education for the last three decades,” explains MIS Department Head Dr. Mohan Tanniru. “This conference promises to be action-packed with participation by leaders throughout the field.”

And just in case you still think IT is about rows and rows of numbers, think again. Conference topics will span topics such as homeland security, intellectual property issues, bioinformatics, e-government, ethics in education, and customer life cycle management.

Major sponsors Karl and Stevie Eller, the Arizona Center for Information Science and Technology, HP, IBM, KaiserPermanenete, Raytheon, and Sanofi-Aventis join the Eller College in presenting the conference, along with 15 other panel and general event sponsors, institutional sponsors, and golf tournament sponsors.
