A Beautiful Mind Author Packs Berger Auditorium
Sylvia Nasar, author of the award-winning bestseller, A Beautiful Mind, delivered this year’s Fathauer Lecture in Political Economy to a standing-room-only crowd in Berger Auditorium February 16th. The economist and journalist, whose story of the transformative work and tragic life of Nobel Laureate John Nash became a blockbuster movie, spoke about her upcoming book, 20th Century Economic Thinkers: What They Discovered About the Way the World Works.
The Fathauer Lecture, established in 1982 and endowed by Isabel and Walter Fathauer in 1996, brings business and community leaders, faculty and students together each year to hear internationally known scholars in political economics. Ms Nasar holds the Knight Chair in business journalism at Columbia University. Prior to her current position she was economics reporter for the New York Times, a writer for Fortune and a columnist at U.S. News & World Report. Nasar holds degrees in literature and economics from Antioch College and NYU.
