New MIS Department Head announced.

Paul Portney, dean of Eller College of Management at The University of Arizona, announced this week the appointment of a new head for the College’s top-five ranked Department of Management Information Systems.

“It gives me great pleasure to announce that Paulo Goes, a professor in the department of Operations and Information Management in the School of Business at the University of Connecticut, has accepted our offer to become the next head of Eller’s Management Information Systems department,” Portney said. “He is an outstanding scholar, a dedicated teacher, and a proven bridge-builder between academia and the public and private sectors. He is exactly the type of person we hoped to attract to the department and the college when we began this important search last year.”

Portney also acknowledged the search committee, headed by Eller College marketing department head Bob Lusch. “We are indebted to him and the other members of his committee,” Portney said.

The College and the department will welcome Paulo Goes this fall and plan to announce his arrival formally in forthcoming press materials and publications. A welcome reception will be planned for the fall.
