ER2006: 25th Annual International Conference on conceptual Modeling coming to Tucson

November 6-9, 2006

What: The Eller College of Management’s MIS department will host more than 140 international experts from industry and academia for the 25th International Conference on Conceptual Modeling. The conference brings together academic researchers and industrialists who are interested in all aspects of database technology, and information systems design and usage.

Conceptual modeling has long been recognized as the primary means to enable software production in information systems and data engineering. Nowadays, conceptual modeling has become fundamental to any domain in which technologists have to cope with complex, real-world systems. Conceptual modeling fosters communication between technology experts and technology users, and it has become a key mechanism for understanding and representing computing systems and environments of all kinds, including the new e-applications and the information systems that support them.

This year’s conference will honor Dr. Peter Chen who developed the Entity Relationship (ER) model 30 years ago.
