John has 17 years of professional business development, operational management, and start-up experience in a variety of technology product and service industries. John has served the University of Arizona in previous roles as Senior Business Intelligence Unit Manager for Tech Launch Arizona and an Adjunct Lecturer of Supply Chain and Critical Thinking in the Norton School of Family and Consumer Sciences. Most recently, John serves as the Assistant Director of the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center for Accelerated Biomedical Innovation (ACABI) where he facilitates the translation and commercialization of University based technology.
John is a University of Arizona graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration with focus in Entrepreneurship from the Eller College of Management. John is an alum of the McGuire Entrepreneurship Program and is presently functioning in an executive role in two University developed start-ups in the Ag-Tech and Digital Health arenas. Taking into consideration the prime factors of technology commercialization, John has successfully launched and operated technology based companies to early stage revenue generation and alternative market entry, while driving the long term strategies for the organizations.
John is experienced and skilled in identifying market opportunities and the development of go-to-market strategies for technologies in a variety of domains. His multifaceted experience in industry-facing engagement and management roles have provided him a unique perspective in conducting industry needs analysis, identifying IP value propositions, and presenting viable solutions to potential partners. John’s professional network spans the business landscape and his practical, consultative approach has made him a trusted advisor to both internal and external stakeholders.
